Cream Pie Milkshake Recipe Using Goat Milk

This milkshake recipe uses whole goat milk in place of ice cream for a delicious, healthy, ice-cold treat that tastes like an entire cream pie in a glass.

Goat milk is a very nutritious drink, containing more calcium, protein, vitamin A, vitamin B6, niacin and many minerals than cow's milk.

In addition to the extra nutrients, goat milk has properties that make it easy to digest. The size of its fat globules are smaller, and the fat does not clump together like the fat in cow's milk. This enhances the digestibility, and makes goat milk extremely rich and creamy tasting.

Some individuals who are lactose intolerant are able to tolerate goat milk because of its digestibility properties, combined with a lower lactose level.

The protein in goat milk also differs somewhat from cow's milk, which means that some individuals who are allergic to cow's milk are able to tolerate goat milk.

Overall, goat milk is a great nutritional addition to most diets. Since goat milk is slightly sweeter and richer-tasting than cow's milk, it makes a wonderful ingredient in dessert recipes.

Mix the following in a blender until smooth:

• 1/2 cup goat milk
• 1 cup ice
• 1 Tbsp. instant pudding powder, any flavor
• 1 Tbsp. graham cracker crumbs
• 1 Tbsp. whipped topping

Pour into a glass and garnish. Recipe makes one glass.

Some topping ideas are:

• All flavors: whipped topping and graham crackers
• Vanilla: maraschino cherries
• Chocolate: chocolate chips, candy sprinkles
• Butterscotch: butterscotch or chocolate chips
• Pistachio: pistachio nuts or almond slivers
