Beach Wedding Centerpieces?

I am trying to think of a centerpiece for a beach wedding that is different than just flowers. I don't want candles either because it is during the day and will not get dark. I thought of doing the fish bowls with sand at the bottom, with a little turquoise sea glass and a couple shells. I was then going to fill that with water and float hot pink plumeria on top of the water. So a floating flower centerpiece meant to look like in Hawaii when there are plumeria just floating about. Do you think that would be ok? Or should I change it up some? Thanks.

If you are using fresh flowers you might want to do a test run first and see how they hold up after being in the sun for an extended period of time. Don't forget things like:

Driftwood
Shells
Banana Leaves
Bamboo
Palm Leaves
Small Umbrellas
Lanterns ( lit or unlit)
