How full should I inflate a mylar helium balloon?
This is for a science project. I want to make sure it reaches the highest possible height without exploding or shattering. I am attaching a tiny meter to take temperature and air pressure readings.
I know if I fill it up, it will pop soon because of expansion. Should I fill it three quarters full? Two thirds full? One half full?
What's the highest reasonable height I can bank on the balloon reaching?
Thanks in advance!
You could calculate it when you know the maximum size of the balloon and if you have an indication of the temperature and pressure at the height you want to reach.
