Scar Treatment Products: Quick Action Can Be the Best Scar Reducer
Many doctors think that therapy, including the application of scar treatment products, should begin within two weeks of a wound closing or stitches removal. We know that silicone in scar ointments is proven to work if therapy begins early and continues consistently for six months or more. Why is Quick Action Essential?
1.New tissue is forming even before a wound closes.
A.Wounds bind by growing tough connective fibers, which weave themselves together to naturally pull closed the separated edges of skin.
B.To affect scarring, therapy must begin quickly. The inter-weaving of connective cells begins immediately.
Note: Very gentle massage incorporating silicone scar treatment products can help break up tough tissue before it heaps up and leaves a disfiguring, permanent reminder of a wound. This compound, with the chemical symbol Si, may be a conduit for static electricity, which may slow cording of rejuvenating fibres.
2.Scars need soothing early on.
A.They itch. Scratching is a bad idea when an incision is healing.
B.They are swollen and hurt.

Note: Si in a scar reducer has been shown to be especially soothing. It also promotes healing, which cuts the length of time pain continues.
3. Any skin injury requires protection.

Moisture is essential to speeding healing.
4. Pulling may be the worst thing for a recovering injury.
A.New research finds pulling on repairing skin significantly increases the likelihood of disfigurement.
B.The tape required to fasten [silc.] sheets to a scar will pull on the skin. Sheeting used to be a standard scar help.

5. Fading and color
A.Redness is a sign of infection but non-infected injuries are usually red or brown during early recovery.
B.Scar fading is another term for removal. As color is reduced the naked eye may barely see it. No wound or incision mark can be completely erased.
Note: While many scars fade naturally as they age, the process can be encouraged to speed up with an ointment containing Si as the main ingredient.
