Pear Shaped Diamonds- A Must For Any Engagement Ring!
One of the most important things to consider when looking to get engaged is the engagement ring diamond shape.
The popular pear shaped diamond ring boasts with a stone which is something of a cross between an oval and a marquise cut. The result of course being: an eye-catching shape resembling that of a glistening teardrop.

The all important length-to-width ratio of anything between 1. 50 and 1. 75, with even shoulders is important.
Uneven shoulders will significantly decrease the pear shaped diamonds' value due to the fact that instead of the diamond having a perfect curve at the rounded end, it may appear to look more like a triangle, in other words creating what diamond experts and jewelers call high shoulders.
Culet relativity should preferably be centered under the diamond tables' widest part.
Rounded end angling should be kept at ideally 41 degrees or as near as practically possible, resulting in a largely circular form at the one end of the stone. This will instantly provide optimum brilliance.
Another consideration that's of utmost importance is the diamonds' cut. The better the diamond cut, the more sparkling its appearance. A well-cut diamond, regardless of its form embodies light and brilliance.
Nature determines the diamond clarity and color, it's all up to the diamond cutter to release the stones sparkling beauty. The cut will allow light to enter, reflect off of natural facets and reflect back to the diamonds top as well as the eye of the beholder.
The pear shaped diamond cut is based on traditional cut configuration of conventional round diamonds and normally has 58 facets standard. Should the proportions creating the sparkle not cut precisely, it may result in the middle area appearing darker.
Jewelers and diamond cutter often refer to this cutting flaw as a bow tie and can easily be spotted with the naked eye. Good news is that a diamond cutter will be able to remove such flaw easily by just a little facet adjusting.
Pear shaped diamond are easily used for solitaire purposes or with other stones. A popular setting example is a large pear shaped diamond with two smaller pear shaped diamonds set directly next to the larger stone in a horizontal position.
