How To Mix Up Your Greek Apparel
Greek apparel is everywhere – sorority letter shirts, fraternity sweatshirts, Greek jackets, and more are found at most universities across the country. With such an abundance of Greek clothing, it is ideal to have the opportunity to "mix" up your apparel, making it more unique and interesting.
There are many design styles available when choosing your Greek apparel. These include sewn-on Greek letters, custom embroidery, silk-screened Greek apparel, garment printed Greek clothing, and Greek rhinestones. If you are looking to "mix-up" your Greek clothing, combining any of the styles listed above is a great way to accomplish a distinct and new look.
Greek sewn-on letters offer a traditional and bold look! They are long-lasting and durable and clearly identify the organization you belong to. Most members of a fraternal organization will have at least one pair of Greek sewn-on letters, if not more! To mix things up, other design styles can easily be added to make the t-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, or bag more interesting. The most common style to be added to a sewn-on letter design is custom embroidery. Custom embroidery offers unlimited design options ranging from wording, symbols, crests, and more. The designer can control the color, placement, size, and font. Not only does custom embroidery make the piece of Greek apparel more interesting, it also easily adds meaning. In addition to embroidery, silk-screening and garment printing offer more ways to mix up your Greek apparel. Silk-screening is best used for larger orders as there is often an order minimum and set-up charge. Garment printing is a bit more like embroidery where you can use this technique on single piece items. With both, you can create designs and wording in many colors and sizes to add personality and interest to the piece of sorority apparel or fraternity apparel.
Greek rhinestones offer a classy and stylish look. Often times you will find rhinestones available in a small, 2" design or a large front center designs. Greek rhinestone designs can come in many colors, although Silver is the most prevalent. Rhinestones don't however offer unlimited design options, so that is the perfect time to incorporate embroidery into the design. Both techniques complement each other nicely and have similar design styles. For example, an American Apparel Zip Hoodie with a Kappa Kappa Gamma rhinestone left chest design can also look great with embroidery centered underneath. This allows for additional wording, like the particular chapter or year established to be added.
Whatever the design style is that you choose for your Greek apparel, be sure to consider "mixing it up"! With Greek apparel found everywhere, adding multiple design styles to one piece of clothing will certainly make it more interesting and unique.
