How to decorate a pre-teens room?

so my little sister wants to re-do her room.
what shes thinking about doing:
*painting the walls two colors, yellow, pale pink, hot pink- bright colors
*new bedding- sheets pillow cases etc
*a place to put books.
*a dresser
*some good lamps, maybe a desk if it will fit

Pottery Barn Teen (pbteen) has aaaa loottt of cool room designs/ideas and a crapload of cute furniture in every style.

Dali wall decals are like amazing (http://dalidecals.com/) and it's a quick fix for rooms that are kind of boring.

New bedding is also a super fast way to brighten up a room.

i would think twice about painting a hot pink wall though- when i was 11 or 12 (im 15 now) i redid my room with a pale yellow wall, a bright blue column thing (my room is shaped weird so i have this column bit that sticks out) and a lime green wall. Like its sooo bright. When you stand in front of the green wall it reflects off your shirt and face. And now.. i'm super over it. I want kind of pale, warm colors with the green wall repainted magenta to off set the pale. Idk, just make sure that when she is older, has more hw, and is a LOT more stressed she will be okay with having to go to sleep in a room with a hot pink wall.
