Once upon a time, on a planet not to much unlike our own, there lived a portly porcupine named Patrick. Now Patrick was not like other porcupines, by all means. He loved to frolic in the daisy dandelion fields all day and all night! In fact, you could say this Patrick the portly porcupine was just way to whimsical for the other porcupines to hang out with. They would see him at day, running around picking pink posies and at night, laying on his back watching the spectacular purple moons that lit the sky. The rest of the porcupines just thought Patrick as lazy. But he was happy with who he was.
One day, The evil Queen of Mean was getting highly frustrated with the way her kingdom had been running, and she sent for her green grubby gremlins.
"I need some slaves to do my bidding" The Queen exclaimed "Fetch me those rechid porcupines and I will make them take care of the castle!"
So the gremlins grabbed thier magic lanterns and went off to raid the porcupine village. As their evil presence neared the village, dark orange thunderclouds filled the skies. Giant bolts of thunder burst down upon the village, destroying many of the porcupines houses. They ran in fear. The gremlins showed no mercy, gathering up every single last procupine into thier cages and took them off to see the queen! Well at least they thought they had all the porcupines!
Patrick had been doing his nightly stares at the purple moons when the grubby little gremlins had attacked the village. He hid in the bushes watching in terror as they whipped away all his friends and family. He ran as fast as he could, deep into the forest. Finally coming to rest near a stream.
"What do I do now?" he proclaimed aloud.
He bent to take a sip of water from stream for he was parched from his running. As he looked into the stream, he saw the reflection of a beautiful woman. Startled, Patrick jumped backwards and looked up to see the most beautiful sight he ever saw. There stood the Blue Angel of the Forest!
He had heard about her through tales his mother and father had told him as a child but he had always thought that they were just that - tales!
"What seems to be troubling you my portly little fellow?" the angel asked.
"The Evil Queen of Mean has raided my village and took everyone as her slaves" Patrick said "And I am scared and do not know what to do!"
"I am so tired of that queen and her green grubby gremlins!" The Blue Angel announced, "Let's put a stop to her evil rule once and for all!"
She scooped up Patrick and off they flew through the night air, passing over the Daisy Dandelion fields and hovering beneath the purple moons, they spotted the magic lanterns of the grubby gremlins as they were pulling the cage cart full of porcupines back to the castle.
"There they are!" Patrick yelled.
And with that, the Blue Angel quickly flew to the ground , dropping Patrick on his feet and stood before the gremlins.
"Gasp! it's the Blue Angel" one of them shouted.
"You nasty little things! How dare you come into our forest and perform such evil things" The Blue Angel yelled at them.
Meanwhile, Patrick had snuck over to the cart and was picking the lock with one of his porcupine quills. He quickly got the lock undone and the others were free.
"The porcupines are getting away" yelled a gremlin, "get them!"
With that, the Blue Angel raised her wand said "Toadstoolius Miraculious" and the grubby gremlins became grubby toadstools instead!
"HOORAY!" shouted the porcupines!
But just then, from out of one of the orange thunderclouds, the Evil Queen of Mean came floating down on her magic broomstick.
"How dare you interfere with my plans!" she huffed at the Blue Angel. She to had a wand of her own and she lifted it toward the angel, shooting from it her ray of death. But the angel was fast, and she too raised her wand shooting her own ray from it, the two rays clashed in the middle, creating a giant light that filled the forest. The porcupines cowered in fear. But not Patrick! He ran up behind the evil queen and bent down behind her knees. The Blue Angel, seeing what her new found portly friend was up to, ran straight at the queen, pushing her backwards, and she fell over Patrick and over the edge of the cliff into the river below!
Now, the other porcupines do not make fun of Patrick. At any given day, you can still find him picking pink posies and staring at purple moons. But usually right beside him is the Blue Angel of the Forest. And the other porcupines know, that without Patrick and The Blue Angel, life could be a lot worse than just being lazy!
