Philosophy Supernatural
Is Christianity merely a symbolic mythology coupled with a simple supernatural philosophy, or is there more?
I'm wondering if there's more to the interpretation of this particular religion, or any, taken literally.
The fundamentally religious will most likely claim "no! Jesus is the way and the light" but this is empty for me, completely non-descriptive, but go ahead, preach. I'm wondering what the rational people on this board think another simple description may be, besides the offensive ones.
I think first of all you ought to show a bit more respect for other people's belief systems. If you think Jesus is offensive, then it's time to broaden your horizons.
There IS a difference between the dogmatic religious person and one who lives by spirituality. I prefer the latter. Yes, there's a lot of symbolism in Christianity, but so is it with the Jewish faith, nothing new there. There is probably a certain amount of mythology sandwiched in between the facts of the OT writings so it is not wise to dismiss everything out of hand. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water, lol.
Now, there is no such thing as "supernatural" in the world because the laws governing the universe are true and exact, like mathematics. It is simply mankind who is lacking in understanding and wisdom.
And yes, there is more. Perhaps if you open your mind more you will allow more truth to enter in. I hope so. I'd explain more about the Christ mind which the Master Jesus demonstrated in his life and teachings but I don't think you are ready for it yet. Someday perhaps.
