Pair Hand
How can I tame a pair of love birds and 2 pairs of parakeets? (they're non-hand fed)?
I need answers and I don't wanna hear about i should only keep one or its very hard or i should have buyed hand fed birds. tnx in advance.
You'll have to give them time..thats the main thing.Once u get them, for around 2 days, they'll get scared of u n will be adjusting to the environment. So, you just give them their food n water and clean the tray etc. and try to sit next to them when you're free or eating or something and whistle,talk etc when you're around them...once they dont get 2 scared getting close to you, just note their eating timings and at that time, remove the eating bowl from the cage and put some seeds in your hand and keep your hand in the cage. Dont move at all, just let them come to you..(i waited for an hour till only one of them came) and when it comes n eats from your hand also, dont get 2 excited..just stay still..do this everyday for a week and then you can remove them from the cage..they will atleast come and sit on your hand or you can hold something which looks like a perch.but again..you should stay still..and pls be patient..it really takes time..depending from bird to bird..my other bird still doesnt come to me..
theres one more suggestion i'd like to give(something that i used to make them trust me)..just switch on a you tube video of lovebirds singing..or whichever bird you get..and play it in front of them and pat the screen of your llaptop as though you r touching that bird
