What is a good color sceme for my new apartment?

This apartment is in an old renovated hotel. The ceilings are high and windows are tall with a good amount of crown moulding. Standard apartment, kitchen, living, bath, and bedroom. I have a couple of ideas: bedroom walls(and possibly ceiling) midnight blue with different sized stars stenciled on with silver and/or gold glitter glue/paint with glitter and I think it would be wise to keep the living room neutral, like a semi-dark sand color.... but I am totally lost for the bathroom and kitchen (which opens into living room). I like the idea of different color in every room, but I want it to flow well together too. Any ideas or suggestions on my ideas?

If your room is larger than standard, you could use midnight blue as an accent color on one wall, say, the back of the bed as a focal point, but the other walls should be in restful shades. If you really want stick-on stars/glitter, try them on the bathroom tiled walls where they'll come off easier when you get tired of them (in a month maybe). Ceilings are usually a shade lighter than room walls. If the bathroom opens to your bedroom their colors should complement each other. Same with kitchen (should be a bright and airy workplace) and living room. A neutral color living room will not clash with any color furnishings and decor. To make rooms flow together choose a neutral color as part of the color scheme for all rooms (my house has all light gray baseboards and medium gray doors). A standard color scheme has three colors, allowing for a fourth (neutral shade). Look for sites on theme decor.
