What kind of makeup should I wear with a 1920s-esque beige chiffon dress?

So tomorrow for my graduation dinner I'm wearing a beige, knee-length chiffon dress thats a bit reminiscent of a 1920s sillhouette. I've painted my nails bright red, and my shoes are neutral brown heels.
I'm thinking I may go for a bolder look and do bright red lipstick and subtle eyes, but I'm not really sure I can pull that off, so does anyone have any alternative suggestions?

Do a lipstick that emphasizes your cupids bow on your lips, and lightly line your eyes with black eyeliner. Like the silent films, but modern.
