Lipstick Scarlet
Green eyes, red dress, black hair. Any makeup suggestions?

I have no idea what kind of makeup to wear with a red dress. I'm a big fan on Chanel's Russet Moon lipstick, which is kind of a crimsony shade, but it seems as if red lipstick plus red dress equals waaaay too much. My eyes are green, and my hair is jet black. I'm 1/2 black half cuban, so think a complexion similar to like, Rhianna. Our eyes are pretty much the same color too. my dress isn't a bright red, it's kindof a scarlet, but it's not super dark. there's quite a bit of silver sequined embellishment, along with silver and red jewel appliques. i'm wearing my hair half up, half down, in big soft curls, and it goes halfway down my back. that's about it...any makeup suggestions?

Try blue. Blue is a very common eyeshadow color. Blues are all about being noticed, not natural. But blue doesn't necessarily go great with every ones eye color. blue goes best with brown eyes because they are so opposite that brown eyes will pop.
Consider silver/gray. Silver/gray brings on heavy metals and drama. Silver/gray are usually used as evening shades. It looks great with blue or brown eyes.
Put on brown. Brown or bronze gives off a great natural glow when worn properly. It looks best with dark brown eyes and hazel or light brown eyes depending on the shade of brown.
Be careful with green. Green is a color that was inspired by nature. One of springs best colors, it looks wonderful with Light brown or blue eyes. It can also be very easy to overdo and make you appear like the wicked witch of the East! Be careful and sparing in adding it.
Add some purple. This was the spring of 07's signature color but it looks great in any season when done well. It looks awesome with brown or green eyes.

Try all different shades of your color to find what looks best with your eyes!
Don't use so much color that it looks so unnatural that people will want to avoid you because you are wearing so much make-up.
Don't match your eye color to your eyeshadow. Matching your eye color to your shadow will "drown out" your eye color.
