Is this a makeup value or a waste of money?

I bought this Smashbox kit for $45 it has a mascara that i read bad reviews about its supposed to be like great lash ( i hate great lash). It has a highlighter, cream liner duo, and a full size lip gloss. The main products I want are highlighter and mascara. I was gonna get this stuff at sephora for like $35 i can't decide whether or not to cancel the smashbox stuff.

i think that's a bad deal.. save your money, you could get better quality products that you actually like for a reasonable amount of money.
