Kit Pale
What would make a good make-up kit for starters?
My father and brother raised me. I am leaving for college soon and have no idea how to apply nor do I own anything make-up related. I wouldn't even know where to start when it comes to buying some. Since I'm going to college, I want to change my image some and start wearing a little. Any help as to what I should get?
I literally know NOTHING about make-up!
I'm an American girl with translucent pale white skin, very northern european genetics. Brown hair and eyes, rose lips. Thanks.
Basic things that you need will be:
1. Foundation/Powder
If you have good skin, I recommend you to wear Tinted Moisturizer or just face powder. Thre's no need to wear heavy foundation if you have a good skin. Some brands that have good tinted moisturizer: Mary Kay, Stila, Wet n' wild, E.L.F, Jane, Cover Girl, etc
2. Concealer
Concealer is good to cover up under eye circles, or blemishes. You don't need to cover up your whole face with heavy foundation if you only have few blemishes. You can try: E.L.F (all over color stick), Sonia Kashuk (concealer palette), Almay (Coverup stick), Maybelline (Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector), etc.
3. Blush
Everyone needs at least 1 pink and 1 peach blush.
4. Eyeshadow
To make your eyeshadow lasts the whole day, you'll need an eyeshadow primer. Urban decay's primer potion and Too faced shadow insurance are cult's favorite but they're a bit expensive for some people. So, if you're on budget then I suggest L'oreal decreased
If you're beginner, you wanna start with wearing neutral colors. I recommend you to buy eyeshadow palette instead of single eyeshadow, cos you can play around with different colors. To bring out your brown eyes, wear green or purple eyeshadow. Or if you prefer neutral eyeshadow like brown, you can still make your brown eyes pops by wearing violet/purple or green eyeliner.
These are some eyeshadow palette that I recommend:
- Milani Quad in 'earthly delights'
- NYX For your eyes only 10 color eyeshadow palette 'for eye color brown'
- Cover Girl quad 'ice princess'
- coastal scents 88 eyeshadow palette
5. Eyeliner
black and brown eyeliners are Must Have basic colors. But like I told you before, violet/purple and green eyeliner are best to bring out your brown eyes, especially when you wear neutral/brown eyeshadow. Almay has a gorgeous purple eyeliner 'purple amethyst'.
6. Mascara
Some of brands that I recommend: Cover Girl lash blast, max factor 2000 calorie mascara, Maybelline full and soft mascara.
7. Makeup brushes & Eyelash curler
for eyes: flat shadder brush, fluffy crease brush
for face: powder brush, blush brush, Foundation Brush
I highly recommend essence of beauty brushes which you can get at CVS and also E.L.F brushes

8. Chapstick & Lipgloss
