Fluoride causes truth decay!
The National Fluoride Information Centre - an answering machine in an abandoned building! The most successful hoaxers rely on their victims being willing and gullible enough to deceive themselves. The most startling example is the selling of the fluoridation myth to the dental profession. Department of Health hype, liberally funded by taxpayers' money, created the National Fluoride Information Centre. Its pro-fluoridation propaganda has persuaded scientifically illiterate Health Service staff to swallow the propaganda pouring from the pro-fluoride spin machine.. In reality, there is no 'Centre' in Manchester University's Coupland 3 Building, the official address of the NFIC. Despite spending £1.3 million renovating the building ten years ago, the School of Pharmacy moved out in 2007, because the building was rejected as being 'unfit for modern science', and the building remains virtually abandoned. The dynamic heart of this illustrious 'National Centre' is in fact an empty but securely locked room - on its dusty desk is nothing but a telephone answering machine. Kate Tidman 'Communications Manager' of the Department of Health's Oral Health Unit and (very part-time) of the NFIC is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the spin doctors' professional institution. Kate visits this forgotten outpost of the University for ten minutes or so, about once a week, to collect messages left by frustrated callers to the Centre's permanently unmanned 'Help Line'. The desk drawers are empty, the cupboards bare. There is no ‘information’ to be found in this deserted cubby-hole. The University’s reception, security and maintenance staff have never heard of the NFIC. Even the few researchers still wandering this almost deserted shell are confused and vague about the NFIC's very existence. So next time a Public Health Consultant recommends the Centre as a reliable source of information on fluoridation, ask yourself - would you buy a used medical myth from such a down-at-heel Sales Office?
