Basic Training grooming and cleaning?
I am a 21yr female and I'll be going to Fort Jackson, SC for BCT in a few weeks. I'm black and I have long hair, and would like to know from any other black females (or anyone with good advice period) what's the best way to keep up with my hair during BCT? Is a bun my only option? Also washing my hair can be a hassle when I don't have everything I need which seems I want be able to take much to BCT. Any tips on that?
By the way I don't want any answers about cutting my hair, it took me two yrs to get it back this way and I'm not going through that again.
Will I get to shave? And just out of curiosity I know it's going to happen at some point, but do drill srgts. give any kind of mercy if you happen to get cramps or anything like that?
Kiddo.. if you're looking for mercy from any drill instructor, you're barking up the wrong tree. It's not their job to be merciful, it's their job to prepare you live in the Army the next few years, and survive during those long deployments. Cramps don't really fit in to that equation well. You'll have to do what the rest of us do... take some aspirin and put up with it.
