Why is your dominant foot in the back during snowboarding?
I thought you use your front leg more then you back foot? Because it sounds like you use your front leg more when you turn and toe pressure and that your back leg is just pushing it down and dragging along?

Your dominant foot is not always the one that goes in the back. I assume you're just starting snowboarding, and you don't know what stance you should take. Stand with both your feet flat at the top of some stairs and have somebody lightly push you. Whatever foot you put forward to take the first step should be your front foot. it's not an exact science though, and it really comes down to which is more comfortable for you.
