How Can Latisse® Give me Longer Eyelashes?
Wouldn't you like to have long, dark lashes to flutter at the right guy? You can and it's easy to achieve. Latisse is a fairly new product, although by now it is available at a great many eye care and cosmetic surgery offices.
Latisse is a fluid that comes in a small bottle with a supply of disposable applicators. To use it, you place one drop on a fresh applicator and carefully draw it along the top eyelid at the base of your eyelashes. It's a movement like applying eyeliner. If there is any excess, gently blot it before it rolls down your cheek. Toss the applicator, and using a fresh one with one drop of Latisse, repeat the eyeliner movement on the other eye.
It is best to apply Latisse at bedtime every night. Some time must be allowed for it to work so be patient and by the eighth week, you will start to see results. Your eyelashes will be longer and there may be more of them. After 16 weeks, you will see more dramatic results, as 16 weeks is the full treatment period.
How Latisse Works
Latisse will not only lengthen your lashes, but will make them thicker and darker. It works by affecting the growth cycle of your eyelashes. All hair grows in a three-part cycle with a growth phase, a transition phase, and a dormant phase. Your eyelashes are not all synchronized, growing at the same time and going dormant at the same time. They are at sixes and sevens. That is why it will be about eight weeks before you notice results. By then, enough of them will have been affected by the Latisse that you will see the difference.
For long-term results, ongoing treatment is necessary. If you stop using Latisse, the eyelashes will revert to their original length and thickness, although that will happen over the same eight to 16 weeks that it took for them to change.
Some Possible Latisse Side Effects
Latisse is very safe. Occasionally a person will notice an itch in their eyes or some redness. A more rare side effect is dryness in your eyes and another is red eyelids. One side effect could be considered a benefit: you might notice a darkening of the eyelid skin where you apply the Latisse. It would look like eyeliner but more natural and might enhance the look of your eyes.
A very rare side effect is darkening of the iris, the colored part of your eyes. Again, you might regard this as a benefit. At any rate, it would be permanent, not disappearing if you discontinue Latisse use.
You should not apply Latisse to the lower eyelid. Why not? Because it could stimulate hair growth beyond the lower eyelashes and that could not possibly be seen as a benefit.
As long as you apply Latisse according to its directions, it will be safe and effective and if you do have any side effects, apart from iris darkening, they will disappear if you stop using Latisse. By far the majority of people have no side effects and are excited and pleased at their thicker, longer, and darker eyelashes. It can change your whole facial appearance.
