Envy Original
Any good ideas for an original greek myth?
For my english class, we just finished reading the pantheon, and the teacher wants us to write a story about a goddess that we created. I am torn between writing my story about a goddess of wind who i would call ventus, or a story about a goddess of envy who i would call invidia. I have both of them pictured in my head but i can't seem to find a good story with a moral lesson for either of them. Any help would be STRONGLY appreciated.
Here is a story line for you. Have your goddess in ancient times do something to anger the other gods, and be banished from memory, and become unknown, until she redeems herself in the eyes of the humans, which is nearly impossible since she has been erased from memory. With no one worshiping her, her power is very limited and weak. When she does do something supernatural, it gets attributed to the other gods since she is unknown.
Finally, she uses the last of her power to become a mortal human, and redeems herself without using supernatural powers. Have her become a resistance fighter during world war two, helping to free greece from the Nazi invaders. She ends up being a saint and savior of a village she helped to save. While the people don't know she was/is a goddess, their veneration and praise of her has the same effect as being worshiped, and since few humans worship the other gods in the modern world, she ends up more powerful then them.
