are contact lenses safe?

I am thinking about trying out contact lenses since I really do not enjoy wearing my glasses - however, I would like to hear from some people who have an expierence of wearing them if they are really safe? I plan on buying disposable ones, and only using them for whilst i am at work (so for about 5 to 10 hours a day)

If you use eye contacts properly (follow all the listed hygenic instructions) you will not damage your eyes. I have worn contacts on and off for years and never had a problem because I make sure I always take them out before bed etc.
