Cake decorating -- Luster dust vs edible Gold Dust?
I'm going to make a cake for my sister's golden birthday and i want to put hints of gold on the royal icing decorations but I want them to be noticeably gold. Which will make a richer gold color, 24 karat gold dust or will just gold luster dust be fine?
I have Never Used edible gold dust, but I have used both gold and silver luster dust. Just mix it with a little bit of vodka or an alcohol based item like vanilla extract to make a paint. Then paint on your dried royal icing decorations.
