Concentrated Cologne
Would this method of avoiding the stench on leather watch straps work?
Since leather straps have the problem of absorbing sweat making it stink. What if before using it for the first time we sprayed it with lots of EDT or cologne or perfume. Would that possibly concentrate the porous leather and cause less absorption of sweat? or maybe be more empowering to overcome the stench of the sweat atleast?
This would only work if you intended to spray it every day if not more than once a day. Cologne scent is by its very nature short term. The longest a scent will stay on the skin is about 4-6 hours. Repeated use over time will increase the length of the scent's existance, however this is actually a result of the deterioration of the skin rather than the cologne lasting longer.
Back to your request. The smell from sweat actually comes from the number of toxins that you have in your body and also how hydrated you are. Given that the sweat producing glands surrounding the wrists are miniscule compared to under arms you should probably consider the following options -
1 - drink more water
2 - eat more healthily
3 - Wash more
I am not being visicious these all seem pretty obvious. If you don''t want to do any of that you can spray the inside of the watch strap with hair spray. This will create an acrylic like barrier and will last a lot longer than cologne. You will however have to reapply time and time again.
