Complete Basalt
Can anyone help with minerals and sedimentary rocks?!?
I have a question in my science class, and i desperately need help with it. I've looked all on Google and all through my class notes and i still have no idea. Here's the question:
'How could basalt become the sedimentary rock sandstone? You must use forms of the following terms in complete sentences: weathering, erosion, deposition, compaction, and cementation.'

Basalt weathers down into sand. Through erosion, it is deposited somewhere and comes in contact with other sands. Then, all the sand is compacted and cemented together and creates Sandstone.
