Collectible Perfume Bottles
Perfume bottles are one of the important aspects that people get attracted. The outward appearance plays a vital role in gaining attention and it is common to see people getting carried away with the artistic beauty of perfume bottles.
Conventional perfume bottles are found in abundance as the application of perfumes instigated since ancient times. Perfumes were used during various occasions, and storing it was essential to keep the perfumes fragrance in tact. So collections of perfume bottles were available in various shapes and colors from olden days. Romans and Greeks manufactured perfumes and stored them in geometric shaped bottles. These perfume bottles were recognized as a sign of high class people. Slowly these geometric designed bottles were transformed to mimic nature bottles. This change initiated taking into consideration the progress of the society and rank.
Traditional perfume bottles carries its significance even today and there are many people who just identify their choice of perfumes by merely looking at the shape of the perfume bottle. Perfume bottles are generally refilled as people dislike throwing such traditional pieces since they consider it very valuable. Throwing it is losing the aesthetic value of an antique piece. Gradually, perfume bottles began coming in colored glasses and it was distinguished as classy perfume if the colors were rich.
China came into the perfume market with another assortment of perfume bottles made of porcelain. People did not pause while purchasing perfume from local stores or simple brand perfume stores, but storing it in appropriate and valuable containers was mandatory. Hence, the craftsmanship and the developed interest in artistic talents increased giving rise to manufacture of decorative perfume bottles. This way traditional and conventional perfume bottles began to gain additional importance as these perfume bottles were really appealing. Even in recent times it is noted that perfume bottles especially antique pieces make a great collection.
Perfume bottles are manufactured by using numerous materials like Murano produced colored glass perfume bottles with millefiori or latticinio decoration. The Germans used milchglass, a thick white glass ornamented with flowers or figures in enamels and gilding giving it a striking appearance. Getting lured to such traditional or antique perfume bottles is not astonishing. Similarly, collectible perfume bottles make a great gift during any occasion. These collectibles also hold a memory and sentimental feeling.
Cleaning a perfume bottle is easily done by dropping a denture cleaning tablet and water. The fizz helps in cleaning the interior of the bottle. Innumerable museums and stores providing vintage and Victorian perfume bottles are available at affordable prices.
