Foundation is not bad for your skin, but technically wearing none is better for your skin because your skin is able to breathe on it's own.

It can be bad if you don't use the right kind of foundation. For example, if you have oily skin and you don't wear a foundation made for oily skin, then you might be prone to more breakouts. Make sure you moisturize also, that's very good for your skin - and make sure to wash off your makeup at the end of the day.

SPF is great! UV rays can not only cause sun damage, but can also make your skin break out more. And as for the minerals part, there's no way to really tell if a makeup is really minerals.... unless you're like a scientist or something.
