what kind of art brushes are best if used for makeup application?
what brands and if you know what kind of texture of the brush thanks in advance..=)
Well, there are a lot of brands and types of brushes depending on what makeup product you're applying.
Foundation brushes are good for applying liquid or cream foundation. They're usually flat with the glossy bristles a little over an inch in length. I personally don't see foundation brushes as a staple item for your makeup bag - sponges are a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to work with. http://buttercuppunch.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/foundation-brush.jpg
Powder brushes are usually big, fluffy and round. These are absolutely needed because those little ''puffs'' that drugstore powders provide make it borderline-impossible to blend the product well. http://images.mallybeauty.com/assets/mally/items/0000/3977/tools_MegaPowderBrush_BrushHead_detail.jpg
Blush brushes look similar to powder brushes but are slightly smaller and have finer bristles. This is because you only need to apply the color to a small section of your face and the actual grain of the blush is finer than face powder, so the finer bristles will help to evenly apply the pigment. A typical eyeshadow brush has fairly fluffy bristles that are around 1cm in length. Eyeshadow brushes come in various shapes and sizes but if you're thinking about getting one just for your on-the-go makeup bag, for example, I'd stick with the basic type I described above. http://www.sephora.com/assets/dyn/product/P61035/P61035_hero.jpg

If you're just starting out with makeup and haven't tried different brushes before, don't go right ahead and start splurging on expensive brushes straight away. Target and other department stores have a makeup brush section, usually located near the shampoos, face masks, etc. My sister is also into makeup and got some quality paintbrushes from a craft store and they work really well for eye makeup. One thing you have to be careful of is the glue they use on the brushes. Because they aren't intended for personal use, they *can* contain dangerous chemicals that you wouldn't want around your eyes. If they smell strongly of anything like that, I wouldn't use them on your face. I would also recommend washing them very well before use
